How to split PDF pages and download them separately

Choose the result you need

Splitting lets you take selected pages out of a larger document without changing the original. Decide whether you want one smaller PDF or one file for each selected page.

• One PDF: useful when a reader needs a group of pages together.
• Separate PDFs: useful when different pages need to be stored or shared independently.
• If your goal is to remove pages and keep everything else, Delete PDF Pages may be the simpler task.

Split your document step by step

1. Open Split PDF and select one PDF from your device. Wait for its page previews to appear.
2. Click the previews of the pages you want to keep, or enter numbers in Selected pages. For example, 2,4-5 selects pages 2, 4, and 5.
3. Under Save selected pages as, choose One PDF or Separate PDFs.
4. For One PDF, select Split PDF, then Download. For Separate PDFs, select Create separate PDFs.
5. For separate output, choose Download all as ZIP to get every selected page in one download. Alternatively, use Download PDF beside a particular page.
6. Open the downloaded files and verify that you selected the right pages. If you downloaded a ZIP, extract it first to access the PDFs inside.

Use page numbers and ranges correctly

The numbers refer to the position of each page in the PDF, starting at 1. A printed page label inside a document can be different. For example, the third PDF page might be printed as “1” after a cover and contents page. Use the previews to confirm the position.

• 3 selects only the third page.
• 1-3 selects pages 1, 2, and 3.
• 1,3-5 selects pages 1, 3, 4, and 5.
• Choose numbers that exist in the document and check your selection before processing.

Common splitting problems

• The wrong page was extracted: compare the PDF page position with the printed page label, then select it again using the preview.
• The range is rejected: use numbers, commas, and a hyphen for ranges. Check that the highest page number exists.
• The ZIP is not a PDF: it is a container for the separate PDF files. Extract or unzip it with your device’s file manager.
• A page preview is slow or unavailable: try a smaller, readable PDF and allow time for rendering. Large pages and complex graphics use more memory.
• Processing fails: check whether the original opens in a PDF viewer. Damaged or password-protected PDFs may need a different copy.

Keep the original and check the result

Splitting creates new files from selected pages. It does not rewrite the content on those pages or make scanned text editable. It also does not guarantee that bookmarks, forms, or digital signatures will carry over unchanged.

The tool processes your PDF in your browser. Keep the original until you have checked the downloads, especially when you are selecting pages from a document with confidential sections.
